Protect Your Skin (Post 209)

Summer is quickly coming and whether you are planning a trip to the park, beach, swimming pool, camping or any outdoor activity -here are a list of ways to add to your ten cent crazy book to protect your skin from the sun

Use Sunscreen – the higher the SPF number the better- Suntan products do not protect you from ultraviolet rays

Use lip balm

Try to stay out of the sun from 10am to 4pm – these are the hours the sun is hottest

Use hats and sunglasses

Try to stay in the shade – take a beach umbrella to the beach or keep a small colorful umbrella in the car for those unexpected long walks or rain shower

If you don’t have sunscreen – mix up some green tea in a spray bottle and spray your face and body with it – this is not as good as sunscreen but will certainly help in a pinch

Try to go swimming early in the morning or late in the afternoon

Take vitamin E

Drink lots of water

Remember the sun causes painful sunburns, skin damage, skin cancer and premature aging – so protect your skin
