Ok, it's fire prevention week - here's a list of fire prevention tips to add to your ten cent crazy book
Install and maintain smoke detectors (change those batteries)
Plan and practice escapes (don't block those windows)
Space heaters need space (at least 3 feet from anything- don't leave them on when you're gone or in bed)
If you smoke be careful - cigarettes are the leading cause of fire deaths (don't smoke when tired and water down the butts)
Be careful cooking (watch those sleeves)
Keep matches and lighters away from children
Don't overload extension cords (if the cord is cracked or the toaster smokes get rid of it)
Cool a burn with cold water
Stop, Drop and Roll
Crawl under smoke
Be safe and teach others how
