This year I have decided to make at least one nice dessert each month. (Now remember, I don't cook, so this is a big deal.) Here's the list of desserts that I have decided to make. Make your own list for your ten cent crazy book or copy mine, and I will share some of recipes with you.
1. Hummingbird Cake
2. Peanut Butter Cookies
3. Carrot Cake
4. Apple and Cheese Sandwiches
5. German Chocolate Cake
6. Peach Cobbler
7. Coffee Cake
8. Banana Nut Bread
9. Pound Cake
10. Muffins
11. Impossible Pie
12. Fruit Cake
Now the reason that I say, I will give you some of the recipes, is because, as of right now, I don't have all of these recipes and the way that I cook I'm sure some will come out of a box with can frosting. As I make these I will pass along the recipes that I use. As for now, here's the recipe for Hummingbird Cake.
Hummingbird Cake
3 cups of self-rising flour
2 cups of sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
3 large eggs
3/4 cup of oil
1 cup chopped pecans
2 large bananas - mashed
1 8oz. can of crushed pineapple (undrained)
1 and a half tsp vanilla
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 min or until done
Cream Cheese Can Frosting

A Nice Meal (Post 14)
If you want to start your own crazy book - read post 1-4 and find out how
Something to add to your ten cent crazy book.
I watched a television special that said In Europe every meal consist of:
A Salad
Meat with a (starch-potatoes or rice) and a vegetable
Cheese & bread
Desert
It is usually served,
salad, first course
starch second course- I guess this could also be a soup or pasta
meat and vegetable, third course
cheese and bread, fourth course
dessert, fifth course
This sounds nice, we rarely eat a salad unless that's all we're having and we never add a course of cheese and bread and rarely have room for dessert. If we ate smaller portions, it would probably be better for us and taste better as well. But who has time after work to fix all this? - If it doesn't go in the microwave, I'm in trouble, but I like the idea of this nice meal.

Cleaning (Post 13)
If you want to start your own ten cent crazy book - read post 1-4 to find out how
It is said that if you want a really deep down clean house, you should divide your house into twelve parts. (One for each month) and every month clean every inch of one of your twelve parts. So write down your twelve house parts in your ten cent crazy book and label them January - December.
Example
1. Closets/January
2. Garage/February
3. Playroom/March
4. Kitchen/April
5. Attic/May
6. Living room/June
7. Bedrooms/July
8. Laundry room/August
9. Dining room/September
10. Office/October
11. Bathrooms/November
12. Family room/December
MY list looks more like:
1. Living room/January
2. Kitchen and dining room/February
3. Bedroom/March
4. Bedroom/April
5. Bedroom/May
6. Bathroom/June
7. Bathroom/July
8. Closet/August
9. Closet/September
10. Closet/October
11. Laundry room/November
12. Computer room/December
But if you live in a small apartment your list could be:
1. Living Room/January
2. Computer area/February
3. Bookshelves/March
4. Kitchen/April
5. Upper cabinets/May
6. Lower cabinets/June
7. Dining room/July
8. Bathroom/August
9. Bathroom cabinets/September
10. Bedroom/October
11. Closet/November
12. Dresser drawers/December
However your list is divided, the next time you have to call a plumber, you won't have to worry about what's under the kitchen sick, and if you go back and look at my Post 5 - You Can Change - It will tell you how to have time for all this cleaning and not even realize you're doing anything.
Here's a list of things to clean in the kitchen.
Garbage Can (should be cleaned really well every two weeks)
Toaster
Toaster oven
Coffee maker and tea kettle
Faucets and sinks (should be cleaned really well every day)
Mixer and other counter top appliances
Floor
Microwave
Dishwasher door
Cutting boards
Countertops and back splashes
Cabinets
Stove top
Oven
Vent hood
Refrigerator (should be cleaned really well every two weeks)
I.........like you.......am going to start doing this right away....haha.....maybe, We'll see. I'll let you know how it goes.

A New Project (Post 11)
If you wish to start a ten cent crazy book - read post 1-4 to find out how
Ok, so maybe you don't sew or paint or really have an ongoing hobby or project, but would like to start one. Well, in my ten cent crazy book I am always writing down some recipe that I saw in a magazine or got from a friend. Now understand that I am not at all a cook, if I boil water without forgetting it and burning up the pan, I did great. I will occasionally give you a super easy recipe to write in your crazy book, but as for a project - What about starting a good old fashion recipe box. Some of you will have a recipe box, but others have never had one. If you do already have a recipe box, I would bet (unless you're a great cook) that your recipe box is really old, and either falling apart or overstuffed with tons of pieces of paper sticking out with recipes in no kind of order at all.
Ok, so whether you have a recipe box or not this is a great fun, easy project, that you can make for yourself, your newly moved out son or daughter or a wedding gift for a friend.
Well, know that if you go to the store to buy a recipe box, you will probably not find one. They used to be in the kitchen section of the store and made out of wood, with a cute little rooster on them. What I find now is that you have to go to the school supply section and buy a plastic box; it has a lid that snaps shut and holds 3 x 5 or larger index cards that can be purchased in the same section. Also, if your box doesn't come with ABC dividers they should be right next to the box or the index cards. Now you're ready, the next time you're sitting and watching television, you can work on your recipe box. Get out those old cookbooks and look through them for whatever looks good to you. On the front of the index card, you should write: The Name of the recipe at the top and then list the ingredients down the left front of the card, and in the right bottom corner write the oven temperature suggested and the time it will take to cook. Also put the size of the dish needed.
Example 350 for 30 min in a 9 x 13 pan. On the back of the card write the mixing and cooking instructions. Save the right front of the card for comments, such as (really good or really sweet)
If you don't have old cookbooks to look through, your friends will probably loan you there's, or you can get recipes from magazines, or television is full of cooking shows or of course the Internet is full of recipes.
I like to jot down the recipes in my ten cent crazy book and try them out, before actually putting them on a card for my box, because you may not like the recipe, or you may decide it needs more sugar or it needs be cooked a little longer. So......sit with your crazy book and scribble recipes all over the place and then put the really good recipes in your new recipe box, and enjoy this project.
Here's the first recipe for your box (and remember - I can't cook) I don't use anything but self-rising flour and self-rising cornmeal and I never add baking soda or salt to a recipe because I believe that's the purpose of self-rising......I'm sure I'm wrong, but it seems to work for me.
Corn Muffins
Mix 1 and a half cups of self-rising flour
1 cup of self-rising cornmeal
1/2 a cup of sugar
1/2 a cup of butter
Separately
Mix 2 eggs
3/4 a cup of milk
2 tablespoons of Honey
2 tablespoons of Maple Syrup
now mix all together - it will be lumpy
spray oil on your muffin pan and divide batter into 12 muffins
Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Enjoy your new project.

Inspiration (Post 10)
If you wish to start a ten cent crazy book - read post 1-4 to find out how.
Occasionally I will give you something to add to the Inspiration page of your ten cent crazy book.
A Miracle is the shift of the perception of something.
I like this statement because it makes me remember that anything we truly believe is possible
_______________________________________________________
I also like the statement
All In Good Time
Meaning that "All in good time" everything will come to you that you will need, Instead of saying "This too Shall Pass".- I think that when people are in grief or having a hard time, they should know that they will understand why this happened and that knowledge will come "All in good time"- when they can receive it and accept and understand it better.- Wherethe statement- "This too Shall Pass" seems to say the pain will go away and maybe it won't but at least "All in Good Time" seems to say all knowledge or all things that you need are coming.
__________________________________________________________________________________
I also like the statement
Wealth is having few wants
The less you want, the less you need, the richer and happier you are.
_________________________________________________________________________________
And if you are in a relationship, when talking about your other half, you should always use the statement
I did very well
Especially, when introducing them or in front of them. This always makes them feel good and lets them know they are appreciated.
______________________________________________________________________________
And last for now, I like the statement
Don't expect others to follow your rules
I have the hardest time with this statement, because we all think our rules for life are the right one's and those people we get along with best probably have a similar set of rules, but when we meet someone with a different set of rules, we should not expect them to follow ours. They're rules are not necessarily wrong, their rules are just different from ours, and if they don't expect us to follow their rules, we can't expect them to follow ours.

January (Post 9)
If you wish to start your own crazy book - read post 1-4 to find out how.
Well, January is almost over with, but here are a few things to add to your ten cent crazy book that really should be done in January.
Rotate your mattress
Clean a Closet
Organize your Books
Make some Chili
and one of the best tips that I ever received for January is:
Buy a stand alone twelve month accordion folder to hold all your mail, bills and receipts for the year. They cost about five bucks and you'll never lose another bill or receipt.

Housewarming Party (Post 7)
If you wish to start your own crazy book - read post 1-4 to find out how
If you are planning to give someone a good old fashion “Pounding”. (And no this does not mean beating someone to a pulp). Someone you know has just moved into a new home and you want to give them a party, to show off their place. It’s called a “Pounding” because people use to bring a pound of something to help fill the kitchen pantry. Well, here are some traditional housewarming gift ideas to add to your ten cent crazy book.
Bread so you'll never go hungry and your pantry will always be full
Salt for flavor and spice, it represents life’s tears and mends all wounds and a pinch put at the threshold of each door and window will bring good luck
Wine so you'll never be thirsty and always have happiness and joy
Sugar so your life shall always have sweetness
Flour to bring fullness and enrichment
A Broom to sweep away the evil and to always keep your house clean
A Candle so you will always have light
Butter to bring you wealth
Coffee to wake you up each morning
A Coin to bring you good fortune
Honey to bring you a sweet life
A Knife to protect against intruders
A Penny to keep friends from ever being at the end of the knife
Rice for fertility
Peanut Butter to keep you out of sticky situations
Nails to keep you strong
Olive Oil to give you health, light and to keep your husband faithful
Toilet Paper so that all problems with the new home will easily roll away and be solved
A piece of wood so that your life and home will always have stability, harmony and peace
Bless this house as we come and go
Bless this house as the children grow
Bless our families when they gather in
Bless this house with love and friends.
May the roof above us never fall in.
And may the friends gathered below it never fall out

Coffee to wake you up each morning
A Coin to bring you good fortune
Honey to bring you a sweet life
A Knife to protect against intruders
A Penny to keep friends from ever being at the end of the knife
Rice for fertility
Peanut Butter to keep you out of sticky situations
Nails to keep you strong
Olive Oil to give you health, light and to keep your husband faithful
Toilet Paper so that all problems with the new home will easily roll away and be solved
A piece of wood so that your life and home will always have stability, harmony and peace
Bless this house as we come and go
Bless this house as the children grow
Bless our families when they gather in
Bless this house with love and friends.
May the roof above us never fall in.
And may the friends gathered below it never fall out

Diet and BMI (Post 6)
If you wish to start your own crazy book - read post 1-4 to find out how
Ok, it’s the beginning of a new year and some of you might want to add a diet and how to figure out your BMI (Body Mass Index) to your ten cent crazy book. As for diet, I’ve only ever been on one that I truly liked, it was no carbs, but I could have all the cheese and bacon that I wanted, and every day at lunch, I could have a taco salad consisting of meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and all the sour cream that I wanted. As for a snack I could eat cool whip. Surprise, Surprise, I never lost any weight on this diet and was told that it was not at all healthy, but I truly liked this diet. As for BMI, yes, that’s the thing they do to kids in school now, so that they can tell even the skinniest kid that he’s overweight and needs to exercise more, but for those of you that want these things, here they are.
I recently read about a lady who lost over 100 pounds. She ate a bowl of wheat or oat cereal with milk, twice a day. She could eat all the fruit or veggies that she wanted. She ate chicken, turkey, steak and fish at meal time, and she ate nuts for a snack and drank water if thirsty. She took a multivitamin every day. She said this cured her high cholesterol, high blood pressure, acid reflex and sleep apnea, and this diet is said to be healthy.
As for figuring out your BMI
Measure your height in inches
Example: if you are 5ft 3in, that’s 63 inches tall
Multiply the inches by it self
Example: 63x63=3969
Now take your weight and divide by your answer
Example: If you weigh 120 pounds, divide 3969 into 120 or 120 divided by 3969 = 0.0302343
Now take this answer and multiply by 703
0.0302343x703=21.254712
Your BMI is 21
Your BMI should be 18.5 to 24.9, if higher then 24.9; “they” say you should see a doctor and lose weight.
My BMI does not fall into this range but I do not plan on seeing a doctor and as you know already, my favorite diet, does not work.
Any expert weight training person, will tell you that figuring your BMI without knowing how much muscle you have, doesn’t give you a true BMI number, but if figuring out your muscle is anything like figuring out your BMI, I don’t think I want to go that far. I think they have machines that you stand on at the gym, to figure out your muscle size. If I ever go to the gym, I’ll let you know.

You Can Change (Post 5)
If you wish to start your own crazy book - read post 1-4 to find out how.
Ok, now I will give you something to add to your crazy book. All of you won't want it but some of you will.
My friends often use me as a muse of sorts, not that I have a guiding spirit or that I'm a wealth of information or inspiration, but more than likely, just to see what I will say. I tend to be quite blunt and honest most of the time and I think this amuses them, more than anything else. Whatever the case, someone recently asked me how they could change their aura (like I would know). Well I told them that I didn't think they wanted to do that, because I think perhaps that your aura is the core of who you are. (And I like this person, so why would I want them to change) In any case, I told them that I thought I had something wrote in my ten cent crazy book that was about "How a person could change". Well, being that it's the beginning of a new year, several of you may want to know how you can change, and this is what I came up with. In my opinion, (remember, no guiding spirit, no wealth of information or inspiration) there are only six ways a person can truly change.
1 By changing the way you look – pay attention to your style –cut your hair-change your makeup-wear jewelry –add accessories- this can change the way people receive you
2 Change your routine – drive a new way to work – go somewhere you usually don’t go – like the library- a new grocery store-a new gas station- this way you see new people –they see you and your attitude towards life will change according to how you are treated – if you are treated badly or rudely, or like you don’t matter at one place- go to another- bringing new people into your life will change your perception of yourself and others perceptions of you- making small changes in your routine –upgrading anything you do, will make you feel better
3 Take 10 minutes a day to sit in peace.
4 Try to change any negative thoughts into positive ones – when you listen to others and they don’t listen to you – you are being the one with a higher power and this is said by the Chinese to bring you luck, wealth and happiness.
5 Remember that how you choose to spend your time is up to you – you can be a couch potato and watch television all day, or you can read, sew, paint, clean a closet, cook, or start a new project. You can watch television while doing something else or "watch with a purpose of enjoyment", like learning about a country you would like to see or travel to, or a cooking show, or decorating show – even without doing these things, you will learn knowledge and have a sense of accomplishment. Watching television with a purpose of enjoyment can also mean renting a DVD watching for 15 minutes and then pausing to cook something, clean something, start a project, while the DVD is paused, slowly count to 100 and do something else – chances are 15 or 20 minutes later you’ll realize – Oh yeah – I’m watching a movie. Start the movie and then pause again 15 minutes later- You will accomplish more than ever before and feel good about not wasting time – I have had 4 rented movies last a whole weekend.
6 Think about the people in your life and how you can make them happy – Is it by listening to them, helping them with a project –taking them something you’ve read, that you think they would like, buying them a soda, taking them a muffin – remember these things bring you luck, wealth and happiness.
Most or all remember how great you are – if someone doesn’t have time to listen to you, it is their GREAT loss –for the knowledge you have to share could have changed their life – and how sad for them that they missed out. That’s why they say to pray for your enemies, because if they don’t realize how great YOU are, they have no chance for true happiness.

The List (Post 4)
Ok, hopefully, by now you have a ten cent crazy book and are ready to get started. The list that I am giving you, is a list of what the different pages in my crazy book are titled. I suggest that you open your book and copy my list down the left side of the front page. This will give you a reference, but of course my list is my list and you will probably not want or need some of the things on it. So, on the right side of the front page I suggest you make your own list of things you are interested in, whether it's your bingo winnings, football scores or the times of your mambo lessons, your interest and your book will be different from mine. Remember it is a ten cent crazy book and that means no stress - this is not an organizer or something equally as boring - this is something fun, just for you. If you leave it on a bus or in the subway, it's no big deal, if someone else picks it up and reads it, they will not get what it's for or understand what's in it. Your name is not in it, your address or phone number is not there and the only names, might be the first name of friends that you're trying to remember to call or send a birthday card to. If lost you can always start a new crazy book tomorrow, the next day, next week or even next month. It's meant to help you relax, have fun and enjoy your life. Some of the things you get to go inside your book will be suggestions from me, but most things, once you get the hang of it, will come from magazines, television, your friends and your own thoughts. It's not something you have to do every day, sometimes when I'm busy I lay mine down for weeks. When this happens, it's fun if I suddenly find it and see all the things that I can tear out of my book or mark off my list, because as you will discover - writing it down is like magic, it makes things happen and you may forget what you wrote and suddenly go......oh, yeah, I wrote that down to buy and I got that a week ago, or someone gives you something on one of your list. I once won a trip that I wanted to take, and didn't realize until a year later that I had wrote that in my crazy book. It's a fun and interesting thing to do, so let's get you started. Here's my list of page titles:
THINGS I WANT
THINGS I NEED
RECIPES
GROCERIES
GOOD THOUGHTS
THINGS TO DO AT HOME
THINGS TO DO AT WORK
PLACES I WANT TO TRAVEL TO
THINGS TO PACK
JOURNAL
CALENDAR
HOLIDAY'S TO REMEMBER
WEB SITES TO RESEARCH
BILLS
MEAL PLANNING
BOOKS I WANT TO READ
THINGS I AM THANKFUL FOR
TELEVEVISON PROGRAMS I WANT TO RECORD
DVD'S I WANT TO RENT
MOVIES I WANT TO SEE
PROJECTS I WANT TO DO
MOTAVATIONAL QUOTES
PEOPLE I WANT TO CALL, WRITE OR E-MAIL
FINANCIAL PLANS OR GOALS
WISHES
THINGS TO BUY
THINGS TO DO FOR OTHERS
HEALTH IDEAS
BEAUTY IDEAS
My crazy book list changes all the time, I add things and I take things away.
I got started keeping it, one day when I was just relaxing and looking through one of my favorite magazines and I began to think about whether I was accomplishing anything with this activity, other than the joy of a few minutes to myself. After all, I never seemed to remember much from this activity and when I wanted to cook, sew or do something that I had seen, I either couldn't remember where the magazine was or which one it was in or what month it was in or the name of the magazine. The ten cent crazy book will improve your quality of life so much; you will wonder how you ever got along without it. Follow me and I will give you tips and things to add to your crazy book as we go along. Most of all have fun with it.

Guide to Wealth (Post 3)
Ok, now you're thinking, this lady is really crazy........What do I need with a notebook full of empty pages?
What am I going to write and why?
Well, your ten cent crazy book is going to be just that.......YOUR ten cent crazy book.......I will give you a list of things that I keep in mine, and I will give you suggestions for things to add to yours, but you will have to decide what goes in your book, because it will be the things that are important to you.......Now you're saying like what? and why should I write it down, I know what's important to me without writing it down.
Well.......after you get started keeping a ten cent crazy book you will hate those days when you leave your crazy book at home, or you won't be able to wait until you can get back to it, to add something else.
A ten cent crazy book is a guide to what makes you tick........a keeper of your thoughts, ideas, wishes, wants, and needs. It's a motivator, full of optimism about YOUR life and nobody else. It's also magic (remember it is called a ten cent crazy book), but by magic, I mean that you will be surprised at how much your crazy book will add to your life. What is it that you want or need.......better health, more beauty, a more positive attitude, a yellow purse, a clean house? Do you want to be more organized or do you want more free time, do you just want to be happier? Whatever you are looking for, your crazy book will help you to find it. I have kept a ten cent crazy book for five years now and I can't wait to get you started at being who you really want to be. Follow me and I will help you to get started and help you continue to make your ten cent crazy book your new best friend.

What is it? (Post 2)
Ok, well first let me explain what a ten cent crazy book is and then I’ll explain how to use it and why.
You know how at the beginning of the school year, all of those crazy mom’s and kids are at the store buying school supplies, and the school supplies are EVERYWHERE!
Well next year when this happens, (even if you don’t have any need for school supplies) you will be so excited to see this going on, and here’s why. When you turn that corner or trip over that kid you don’t know……right there in the middle of the aisle you will see this big cardboard box, with a sign above it saying 10 CENTS! Now what in this day and age could possibly be just ten cents? Well, it’s a box full of ……WHAT ELSE!........thousands of……..TEN CENT CRAZY BOOKS!
A ten cent crazy book is a spiral notebook with about 70 sheets of either wide ruled or college ruled notebook paper. (Whichever you prefer)
I usually buy about 20 of these each year…….where else can you get 20 of anything for two bucks.
Now I know it’s not the beginning of the school year, but it is the beginning of the year and a perfect time to start your ten cent crazy book. So grab any old tablet of paper you may have around the house and follow me as I will explain what goes inside your book and the magic it will have in your life.
