Are you planning a Super Bowl Party and would like to set up a bar, but don't know what you will need.
Well, here's a list for your ten cent crazy book of what you need to keep a bar well stocked.
If you don't have an actual bar, set up a sturdy table near the action but separate from the food.
Have plenty of room for glasses and here's what you'll need for a basic, self-serve bar of cocktails, wine and beer.
Liquor, wine and beer
Figure that each bottle of liquor will provide about 20 drinks. The standard rundown should include vodka, tequila, scotch, bourbon and gin. For other options include white rum, vermouth and triple sec.
Expect to get about four servings per bottle of wine. People usually prefer white to red; look for chardonnay, pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc and for reds, cabernet or zinfandel.
Keep both light and dark beers on hand as well as nonalcoholic beer.
Mixers
For mixers-regular, diet colas and club sodas are the most used, but it's a good idea to offer ginger ale and lemon-lime soda, plus tonic and mineral water. Also have orange, grapefruit, pineapple, tomato and cranberry juice. You could make Cosmopolitans or Bloody Marys or simply purchase ready-made mixers.
Also
Leave out a corkscrew, bottle opener, cocktail napkins, ice bucket and tongs.
Expect to use about 4 ice cubes per drink - so start filling up plastic bags a day or two before the party or get a couple of 10 pound bags,
To keep things simple you can use plastic cups.
For a final touch put out small bowls of lemon and lime slices.
