CHANGING IN THE NEW YEAR (Post 262)

If you wish to start your own crazy book - read post 1-4 to find out how.

Ok, now I will give you something to add to your crazy book. All of you won't want it but some of you will.
My friends often use me as a muse of sorts, not that I have a guiding spirit or that I'm a wealth of information or inspiration, but more than likely, just to see what I will say. I tend to be quite blunt and honest most of the time and I think this amuses them, more than anything else. Whatever the case, someone recently asked me how they could change their aura (like I would know). Well I told them that I didn't think they wanted to do that, because I think perhaps that your aura is the core of who you are. (And I like this person, so why would I want them to change) In any case, I told them that I thought I had something wrote in my ten cent crazy book that was about "How a person could change". Well, being that it's the beginning of a new year, several of you may want to know how you can change, and this is what I came up with. In my opinion, (remember, no guiding spirit, no wealth of information or inspiration) there are only six ways a person can truly change.

1 By changing the way you look – pay attention to your style –cut your hair-change your makeup-wear jewelry –add accessories- this can change the way people receive you

2 Change your routine – drive a new way to work – go somewhere you usually don’t go – like the library- a new grocery store-a new gas station- this way you see new people –they see you and your attitude towards life will change according to how you are treated – if you are treated badly or rudely, or like you don’t matter at one place- go to another- bringing new people into your life will change your perception of yourself and others perceptions of you- making small changes in your routine –upgrading anything you do, will make you feel better

3 Take 10 minutes a day to sit in peace.

4 Try to change any negative thoughts into positive ones – when you listen to others and they don’t listen to you – you are being the one with a higher power and this is said by the Chinese to bring you luck, wealth and happiness.

5 Remember that how you choose to spend your time is up to you – you can be a couch potato and watch television all day, or you can read, sew, paint, clean a closet, cook, or start a new project. You can watch television while doing something else or "watch with a purpose of enjoyment", like learning about a country you would like to see or travel to, or a cooking show, or decorating show – even without doing these things, you will learn knowledge and have a sense of accomplishment. Watching television with a purpose of enjoyment can also mean renting a DVD watching for 15 minutes and then pausing to cook something, clean something, start a project, while the DVD is paused, slowly count to 100 and do something else – chances are 15 or 20 minutes later you’ll realize – Oh yeah – I’m watching a movie. Start the movie and then pause again 15 minutes later- You will accomplish more than ever before and feel good about not wasting time – I have had 4 rented movies last a whole weekend by pausing them every 15 min.

6 Think about the people in your life and how you can make them happy – Is it by listening to them, helping them with a project –taking them something you’ve read, that you think they would like, buying them a soda, taking them a muffin – remember these things bring you luck, wealth and happiness.

Most or all remember how great you are – if someone doesn’t have time to listen to you, it is their GREAT loss –for the knowledge you have to share could have changed their life – and how sad for them that they missed out. That’s why they say to pray for your enemies, because if they don’t realize how great YOU are, they have no chance for true happiness.
